How it works

Color exploration works best when a playful result is still repeatable and useful. This tool uses deterministic browser-side rules: numeric channel interpolation for mixing, hue and lightness relationships for palettes, or a stable hash for generated names. That means the same inputs produce the same result without an account, remote model, or API. Mixing screen colors uses RGB light rather than the subtractive behavior of physical paint, so some blends may look brighter than expected from pigments. Rule-based palettes are prompts rather than universal laws; the 60-30-10 framework, for example, describes relative visual emphasis and does not require every pixel to follow an exact percentage. Copy the values you like, test them in your real layout, and check accessibility before using them for essential text or controls.
